Appearance: Claire is 5'1" with blonde hair, she's a little on the curvy side. She normally dresses pretty nicely, but when she appears on the island, she is in her cheerleading uniform. She's very petite and her build is pretty average, she's not chubby, but she's definitely not a stick figure.
Personality: Claire appears to be your average highschool cheerleader, but she is much more. She used to be social and popular, but since discovering her gift…she is not so much. She can be very sweet, and she is loyal. She loves her family very much, even if they are not her biological family, she still considers them to be her real family, and she will do anything to protect them and keep them safe and happy. She wants desperately to just be a normal teenage girl, but she knows that she is not, and probably will not ever be.
She can be a bit rebellious at times too, not listening to people, especially when she thinks she is right. It is hard for her to maintain a real social life with her ability, but she feels she needs to have at least one person to confide in. She finds this person in Zack, and even after his memory of what her ability is erased, she feels she needs to still have him know. She does not like it when people say that she is a freak or something, because she is just a girl, albeit a girl with powers. She is unique, but she doesn’t allow this to corrupt her, though to say it hasn’t changed her is a stretch. She is much stronger and more independent than most girls her age, because she has to be.
Special Skills: Claire’s ability is hinted at when she is as young as eighteen months old. Her birth mother Meredith is seemingly killed in a fire and Claire survives, likely because of her ability. She is adopted by Noah Bennet and her ability does not show again that we know of until six months before Heroes begins. She is fighting over a uniform with a bitchy cheerleader named Jackie and she accidently cuts her hand on some glass. She is taken to the hospital but the wound heals in a matter of hours, leading Noah to comment that it “healed nicely.”
Initially Claire is unhappy about her ability, because she thinks that it makes her a freak. She has come to accept it more, because it is the only reason she is still alive. It is also the only reason that her mother is still alive. Her ability has kept her unharmed many times, even when she is seemingly killed by a tree branch protruding from her head and she is cut open on a table during an autopsy, as soon at the branch is removed, she is okay again. Her ability has also helped Peter Petrelli who would have died after the fall during her Homecoming game, had it not been for their brief meeting and him coming in contact with her power. She also uses it to save other people from harm, like when she walked through the fire.
Weaknesses: It is strongly suggested that if her brain is removed, she will not regenerate.
HISTORY
Claire was adopted by the Bennet family when she was 18 months old, after her birth mother is thought to have died in a fire. Her birth father is Nathan Petrelli but she would not discover this until years later. She was relatively young when she learned that the Bennet’s are not her biological family because she was asking Noah if she would have to wear glasses someday like him and Grandpa when he was trying to pick out some frames. Claire was informed that she was adopted. She met a couple later who Noah paid to pretend that they were her birth family, but Claire didn’t feel a connection with them. She just wanted to know where she came from, to know how she got her extraordinary ability.
Later she finds her birth mother, and when she meets her, she discovers that she can manipulate and create fire. Meredith remarked “some family” when she saw Claire cut herself and watched her heal within seconds. She later learned that Nathan Petrelli was her birth father, awhile after having met Peter at her homecoming game when he was trying to save the cheerleader to save the world. She told him that he was totally her hero, and now she knows that he is her uncle. Even though she knows who her real parents are, she still considers the Bennets to be her true family. She has been hunted because of her ability, and likely will continue to be.
